Genesis 22:8 And Abraham said, God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt-offering, my son. So they went both of them together.
Exodus 29:41 And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do thereto according to the meat offering of the morning, and according to the drink offering thereof, for a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

Hebrews 7:23-28 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Matthew 26:42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
Matthew 27:45-46 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Verse used to say Jesus was spiritually born again (or restored to fellowship if they want to soften it) on the cross:
Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
I know many pastors that teach that Jesus died spiritually also try to teach proper hermeneutics. What happens when you have a few harder verses to decipher? Look at the abundance of clearer straightforward verses to help interpret them. That or you can run to quotes of men to round out a theory. (I don’t recommend that btw.) What do we think the scriptures are saying here? Did Christ have to die one or two deaths? Could Jesus die spiritually and still be unblemished? Did any of those scriptures say Jesus lost any fellowship with the Father? Did any of them mention a spiritual rebirth of Christ on the cross? Did it mention anything about Jesus’ human spirit? Do any of them mention a rupture, albeit brief, in the Trinity? Do any of them mention that a spiritual death of Christ was needed? Did any of them spell out that it happened? Did any of them say the spiritual death of Christ did anything for us? Or rather was there a lot about the body and blood of THE unblemished Savior who laid down His physical life for us?
